Description
The Enhanced Reset Trigger – RARE BREED FRT 15 E3 is a precision trigger system designed for builders who prioritize mechanical reliability and a consistent, rapid reset. It’s engineered to provide a distinct, tactile feel that facilitates faster follow-up shots. Since we added it to our inventory in fall 2025, it has consistently been a top performer, with over 133 units sold and zero warranty claims filed in over a year of sales.
What Makes It Stand Out
- Mechanical Forced Reset: The hammer is mechanically forced forward by the bolt carrier group, creating a consistent, predictable reset point independent of spring tension.
- Enhanced Engagement: The E3 designation signifies an updated sear geometry for improved engagement and durability over previous iterations.
- Drop-In Installation: Designed as a self-contained unit for straightforward installation into a standard AR-15/M16 fire control group pocket.
- Robust Construction: Machined from high-strength tool steel and heat-treated for long-term reliability under sustained use.
- Distinctive Feel: Delivers a unique, positive reset that is both audible and tactile, providing clear feedback during operation.

Common Questions
Is this a binary or burst trigger?
No. This is a forced reset trigger (FRT). It utilizes a mechanical interaction where the bolt carrier group forces the hammer forward on its return stroke, allowing for rapid fire with a single, continuous pull. Releasing and repulling the trigger is required for each subsequent cycle.
Does it work with all AR-15 lowers and BCGs?
It is designed for standard mil-spec lower receivers and bolt carrier groups. Some non-standard or out-of-spec components may affect fit or function. We recommend ensuring your lower’s fire control pocket dimensions are within mil-spec tolerances.
What maintenance does it require?
Like any precision trigger, periodic cleaning and light lubrication on the pivot and contact points are recommended. The tool steel construction is durable, but inspecting for wear on the engagement surfaces after extensive use is good practice.
